Knobblies Mountain bike challenge was a resounding success, thanks to everyone who rode or sponsored a rider. The Seeway trust Tanzania have contacted me now and thanks us all for the fantastic effort in raising a total of £1414 to go towards their appeal to build and equip new homes and a nursey. They have now raised £6800 towards there target for the year of £20,000. Thanks also go time to support the to Quentin and Mandy who did most of the organisation, also to all the other volounteers who gave their cyclists on the day.

Feed back from participants was really good, it was a tough and long day, some finding it harder going than others. So well done to you all and for all the effort with fundraising through sponsorship, always a difficult job.

GUIDED RIDES

Rides will be led by a member of staff, we hope to continue rides throughout the year. As numbers build the groups may be divided according to experience and fitness, but initially the aim to get riders out there who perhaps don't want to ride alone or would like the reassurance of a guide and also the technical back up should you develop a problem. NOTE - Helmets compulsory if you want to come!!

For the benefit of the group we can only take over 14's at present, and under 16's need to be accompanied, this is in case they have to turn back and need help. Once we are happy that youngsters can cope then we will be happy to take them unaccompanied with parental consent.

If you would like to come along be aware that we are riding over Woodbury Common and it is hilly, so a reasonable level of fitness is needed even for novice riders, perhaps do some 20 mile road rides with plenty of hills first to build up a bit of stamina.

The safety and mechanical function of your bike is your responsibility, please don't come if it is not up to the job, knobblies bike shop will happily look over it to give it the all clear, or otherwise if you are in any doubt.

Safety is important to us and we will not be able to take you on a ride unless you have a proper well fitting bike helmet!
