As a guide to the models –  XTC = RACE, FATHOM = FUN, TALON = SPORT, ATX = BEGINNER

Giant XTC

This all-new, multifaceted hardtail has a lightweight Advanced-grade composite frame that’s loaded with technologies for various off-road adventures. In its 29er form, it’s ready to race. But you can also switch it up and convert to 27.5+, or even go singlespeed – making it a true do-it-all XC machine for whatever terrain and conditions you face. It features wider Boost hub spacing (110 front/148 rear), which improves wheel stiffness for better handling, adds tyre clearance and optimises the chainline for flawless drivetrain performance. A 27.2 seatpost adds compliance, the MegaDrive downtube and toptube work together to maximise chassis stiffness and a PowerCore bottom bracket gives you ultra-efficient power transfer.

Giant Fathom

This new off-road bike blends the efficient ride quality of a classic hardtail with the can-do capabilities of an all-around trail bike. It’s built around a lightweight ALUXX SL aluminium frame that’s designed specifically for 27.5 wheels. The frame features more forgiving geometry, including a 67-degree head angle designed for a 120mm suspension fork – so it’s well-suited to modern mountain bike trails. The Fathom series also offers a more rugged component selection, giving aspiring trail riders the ability to climb technical terrain with less effort and have more fun on the descents.

Giant Talon

The lightweight ALUXX aluminium Talon frame features classic off-road design that’s updated with Giant’s proven 27.5-inch wheel technology. The hardtail frame is designed to optimise the wheel size and its 100mm suspension fork. It’s an ideal choice for aspiring off-road riders looking for a balanced blend of quickness and control on the trail.

Giant ATX

ATX is designed for versatile adventure and fun. With its lightweight ALUXX aluminium frame, flatbar positioning and the confident handling of 27.5 wheels, it delivers a smooth riding quality even on rough roads or dirt. Its trail-ready components, including a suspension fork, ensure that you’re ready for whatever adventures you find on the road or trail.

Giant Dirt-E+

Get ready to experience trail riding like never before. The all-new Dirt-E+ lets you tap into an added boost of power to help you tackle the toughest terrain. The compact SyncDrive motor delivers smooth and instantaneous power that blends seamlessly with your own pedalling power – so you can ride stronger and longer, even on steep and challenging trails. With its stable, XC-oriented frame and integrated EnergyPak battery, the Dirt-E+ gives you the power to conquer mountains.

2017 Marin Hardtail Mountain Bikes

MARIN – The Soul of Marin

Halfway across the Golden Gate Bridge, hundreds of feet above San Francisco Bay, is the southern boundary of a very different place. As you cross that line, you enter a different world, full of open space, quiet roads, and trails with amazing vistas—and far from the rush of city life. As the terrain changes, so too do the people. Life becomes less frenetic, more laid back, and more engaged with time and place. This is Marin County, the birthplace and home of Marin Bikes California.

Trail Hardtails

Nail Trail
Redesigned from the frame-up, the Nail Trail family takes on a new attitude for 2017. Series 3 6061 aluminum alloy frames are hydroformed, butted and engineered with a geometry that uses a lower BB, slacker head angle and longer reach. Compliance-enhancing fastback style seatstays 142×12 rear axle spacing, internal shifter and dropper post routing show how the details are important to us. But it doesn’t stop with the frame, with either 27.5″ or 29″ wheel options, 120mm travel suspension forks, wide-range drivetrains and powerful disc brakes, Nail Trails are ready for just about anything the trail dishes out.
Bobcat Trail
Redesigned for 2017 with a trail focus, the Bobcat Trail family of Trail Hardtails are designed for the hardtail enthusiast and recreational rider. Frames are constructed from lightweight Series 2 or 1 aluminum-alloy, with 27.5” or 29” wheels for efficient climbing and stable descents. Bobcat Trail models feature hydraulic disc brakes, and are available with 8, 9 or 10-speed drivetrains. Design features include Trail Geometry, with a low bottom bracket height, slack head angle and longer reach for maximum trail shredding.
Pine Mountain
The Pine Mountain is taking hardtail trail riding to the next level with wide 27.5+ tires on tubeless-ready rims that roll fast and grip anything. Choose between Columbus Thron tubing and investment cast dropouts, locking Naild thru-axles, and a Shimano XT drivetrain and brakes on the Pine Mountain 2, or classic butted CroMo frames on the Pine Mountain & Pine Mountain 1 and go places you didn’t think a hardtail could. Aggressive trail geometry, plus-sized tires and wide-range 1x drivetrains make the bikes capable of climbing figurative walls, and ripping literal downhills. It only took us 30 years of trail riding to create the Pine Mountain series – enjoy a ride like none other.

Sport Hardtails

Bolinas Ridge
The Bolinas Ridge family of mountain bikes are designed for the recreational rider looking to enjoy off road trails and multi-surface conditions. Using our lightweight Series 1 aluminum-alloy frames, 100mm of suspension travel, and reliable Shimano drivetrains, these bikes are durable and capable. Design features include Neutral Sport Geometry for low-speed handling and higher-speed stability.
