KNOBBLIES CYCLE SHOP was established in 1997 by Chris, an enthusiast who used to run a cycle hire and guided ride business in Exmouth. The shop stocks mostly mountain bikes, but we cater for all cyclists, from road, to town shoppers to off road junkies. Over the last few years the premises have expanded into a large, well stocked and respected shop.
THE SHOP PHILOSOPHY It has always been our plilosophy to provide the best possible customer service at a great price. Most of the staff have worked there for several years now and we are always ready to give you the benefit of our experience. We will not pressure you into buying anything, but we will explain a product to you and assess it's suitability according to your expected usage. If we believe something is not suitable we will tell you!!
CYCLE SALES we regard ourselves as mountain bike specialists, though we are becoming increasingly involved in road riding and triathlon, Chris completed the Wimbleball half iron man. We try and cater for all the residents of the town and surrounding areas. GIANT, KONA are the main cycle brands stocked, we have an Orange account too but don't always have stocks as these are a very niche product. High quality accessories, clothing and components are always kept in too. Such as HOPE, RACE FACE, ROCK SHOX, AVID, MET, ALTURA, CAMELBACK and CATEYE to name but a few.
TAX FREE BIKES we are registered partners of the governments CYCLE SCHEME . Whats's it all about? The scheme was created to encourage you to cycle to work. You lease the bike from your employer for a period of time , usually one year, then for a nomimal fee ownership is transferred to you. You do not have to pay tax or VAT on the bike, which is a saving of 40% if you are a standard rate tax payer. Normally spending is limited to £1000. Click thel ink above for more details. If you are entitled by your employer to get a bike the process is very easy, come in choose a bike and any safety accessories you need then wait for your bike voucher to arrive, bring in the bike voucher and swap it for all the bits.
SERVICING AND REPAIRS we will fix and service all makes and models. The work shop is always busy, we will try to get your bike back the next day if possible, or even the same day if booked in. There is no need to book just turn up with it, the staff are very expereinced and can give you a good guestimate of the cost to service or repair. Servicing from £24. Puncture repair £7 or £8, depending on of wheel in or out of the bike, normally done while you wait.

GUIDED RIDES will run periodically. Generally they will have a rating according to fitness and experience. This helps all riders get the most out of it. This is a great way to meet new people, learn some new trails or try out a new sport. Hire bikes may be available in the summer. We generally ask under 14's to be accompanied by a parent or guradian. There is also a small nominal charge to book a place as numbers are limited. We mostly ride over WOODBURY COMMON, an outstanding area of fantastic variety and a myriad of trails which bikers, horse riders, walkers and training royal marines all share. There is not much level ground so a basic level of fitness is needed even on the easy rides, but the hills are not too long!! It offers more than enough riding for even the most experienced and technical of riders.
SATURDAY RIDES Saturday rides starting soon - this is in response to the popularity of the summer thursday evening rides, but with the onset of autumn and gloomy evenings these have stopped we hope to do a regular saturday ride, staff permitting, keep an eye on the 'A' board outside the shop and also listed here on the web site.

We rode the absolutely amazing "Traquair" black trail, 30km of tough trail if ever there was one.
